Landing at the OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg on March 25th, we were greeted by the cool autumnal breeze. The five weeks of ministry was a beautiful cross-section of the love of the Father for this nation, and the local culture. The Lord orchestrated our time with various churches and ministries. We also connected with individuals who are doing the work of the kingdom and we had the privilege to share our hearts and the ministry of Voice in the City with them.

Easter Conference, AFM Tongaat, Durban

The five-week tour started in Tongaat, Durban. We were graciously hosted by Pastors Ronnie and Shirley Naidoo of the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) Tongaat. Dr Rev. Suzette Hattingh dived right into unpacking the truths of the Word – in-line with Easter and centring on the Cross. She shared on Thursday and Friday evenings, and Sunday morning. On Saturday morning, she taught a two-session prayer school.

Worship with Core Team, The Bridge, George

Core Team Meeting, The Bridge, George.

Our next stop was George, at The Bridge Church led by Pastors Patrick and Michelle Rodriguez. Dr Rev. Suzette Hattingh had the privilege of ministering to the core team and volunteers of the church, teaching on leadership on Friday evening. Saturday morning was a refreshing time of Q&A where she ministered very specifically to the needs of the church. On Sunday morning, she delivered a powerful message about walking in our destiny, in the unique blueprint that God has for us.

Pastor Patrick generously opened the doors of the church on Saturday evening for a special meeting where Dr Rev. Suzette Hattingh shared about her recent trip to Israel. Vivienne Myburgh, the National Director of the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem (ICEJ) joined the meeting and was able to give more insight on the situation in the nation. The meeting concluded with a time of prayer for the nation and her people.

Throughout the time in South Africa, we shared about the Trumpet Call retreat with the different networks, seeking prayer, but also rallying intercessors. The retreat began on a Thursday evening with a simple supper. During the conference we had powerful times of teaching and practical application for the tools of directed intercession. It concluded with brunch on Saturday.

We were blessed by Trevor Sampson and Pastor Marlene Steyn who joined us and ministered through worship. Trevor also took one session to teach on worship. The retreat was a time and offered space to come aside personally and collectively, a time of reflection and recalibration. One of the takeaways echoed by many was the understanding of the roles of the different types of intercessors and that each has its place and importance in the building and advancement of the church and the nation. We are thankful for every individual who worked hard behind the scenes to make the Trumpet Call retreat possible. Months of planning, administration, and logistics culminated in a time where many were blessed and fired up for the cause of Christ and the nation.

Thank you to the committee who gave generously of their time and resources, and to the volunteers who served during the retreat. We were honoured to have many leaders and pastors join us during the Trumpet Call Retreat, joining heart and hand for the kingdom of God.

We look forward to continuing this united front as we serve in our ministries and capacities, supporting each other in this journey of faith.

The day after the retreat, Dr Rev. Suzette Hattingh ministered at the Sunday morning service at Living Word, Montana – a church led by Pastors Mario and Marlene Steyn. In the evening, they opened their doors for a special meeting to pray and intercede for the nation of Israel.

It was a great joy to be part of Africa Mandate World Missions Conference. Dr Rev. Suzette Hattingh was among a dynamic lineup of speakers who challenged the church to broaden their perspective and participation in global missions. It was our joy and honour to be part of the celebration the 30th Anniversary of Africa Missions, honouring the work and ministry under the leadership of Pastors Ron and Rina Kinnear.

The five-week tour concluded with ministry in Moreleta Church, Pretoria. Dr Rev. Suzette Hattingh spoke at the Sunday morning service, followed by the evening service catered to young adults and youths.

Our hearts are filled with deep gratitude for the warm hospitality and love we received during our time in South Africa. It is only by God’s grace and your prayers that the South African Ministry Tour had tremendous impact and that many foundations were laid in moving forward to better serve the body of Christ. Thank you for your unwavering support and for sowing into what we as voice in the City Ministries do. Your partnership spurs us on to keep being a voice in the wilderness, speaking life and truth according to the authority God has given to us.
