Adolf and George, along with the rest of the staff, were given permission to start a special project. It involved creating an underground water tank to harvest rainwater. Using a special technique, the tank can provide 6,000 litres of drinkable water by purifying the rain water. This is both an excellent and productive system that costs only 3 million rupiahs (about £165) per tank project. It is therefore very cost-effective.
The students provided the manpower and also become the beneficiaries of this inexpensive water harvesting and purification system. Furthermore, while the students were working on the project, the Love Papua Centre team were able to mentor them and give them spiritual input.
