Frankfurt Connect – An evening that changed lives

A powerful evening in the presence of God lies behind us. A space where young people usually come together to learn about God, became a meeting place with God and each other on Saturday the 24^th of September. As more than 140 people filled the communal room of the “ Freie Christliche Schule Frankfurt”  we were all in anticipation of about what would happen…

We have invited Henok Worku as the speaker, who was born and bred in Frankfurt and whose heart passionately beats for revival among the younger generation in Germany. This was evident throughout. He preached with all his heart about “The fear of God – The key to remain in Freedom,” and explained what an important role the fear of God plays in every Christian’s life. This was a topic that was not easy to digest for a few, but many were touched and impacted. Afterwards we witness the greatest wonder of we can experience on earth – SALVATION! As we made the altar call, several gave their lives to Jesus, chose to leave their past behind and to separate from addictions. God is so good!

The evening, however, was not over yet. The vision for Frankfurt Connect, is to do exactly what it says – to connect churches with one another. What better way to do that than with games and food! We divided the young people into different groups and through games, a quiz and challenges new acquaintances were made and friendships were built. Obviously hot dogs and fresh popcorn were thrown into the mix and it created a wonderful atmosphere for fellowship. What an unforgettable evening…

Frankfurt Connect aims to work with different churches in Frankfurt to build the kingdom in our city. We could see the vision come alive when worship leaders from six different congregations made up this event’s worship team, with an emphasis on the fact that “we can serve together in unity.”
