There is so much I am grateful for in life. There are beautiful, peaceful, but also unpleasant and restless times in life and these times, which one of us does not know them? I was also affected by this a few years ago, when I almost gave up my bachelor’s degree and kept my spiritual life almost at a standstill.
But God is so good and faithful.
„If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is“
2. Timothy 2:13 NLT
Long story short: I had a vision that I would successfully complete my studies and not only that, He gave me such a deep peace, fire and fresh anointing, a combination that I really needed to not only really minister to God wholeheartedly, but also to have a living relationship with Him. It has taken me to a deeper dimension.
It is so wonderful and unique how God speaks to each one of us. The Word of God is indispensable in this. We read in many places in the Bible how God speaks to people through dreams and visions.
He gave His prophet Isaiah dreams and visions of the birth of Jesus long before this happened, giving people hope in the dark times. Joseph, the son of Jacob, had visions of his future since he was young. Joseph, Mary’s fiancé, received through a dream, the confirmation and also the peace to take Mary as his wife. There are so many other stories that tell of how God speaks to people.
Is that still true today? Yes, even today, God’s ways and His way of speaking to us are diverse and wonderful. Dreams and visions are often important. The dreams and visions He give to us take us into a deeper dimension, into a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit, and we gain insight not only into a spiritual level, but partly into God’s will for our lives.
When visions that we humans receive come from God, they will never contradict the Word of God but will be in alignment with His Word. An open heart and an open spiritual ear are just as important to receive the visions of the Holy Spirit.
Praise be to the Lord that God still speaks to us today. Through His Word, through dreams and visions and perhaps also through our circumstances, and much more. Are we ready to receive His Word and listen to Him?
