The Easter celebration took place last Tuesday (22nd of April). Six ladies from the brothel – who were very open – took part. (There were only nine rooms booked that night,
As we were about to start eating, a woman asked if we should pray at the beginning. She then said a sincere prayer in her mother tongue. That was a very special moment.
Then Dr Gayle Claxton preached about the cross. She said that Jesus can understand the ladies and made it clear in her message that God brings change and can turn a minus into a plus. It was so beautiful to see how interested the ladies listened. She then prayed for everyone. Each of the woman spoke a sinner´s prayer. A team member played a worship song and then we prayed as a team for those present – everyone wanted to receive prayer.
During the evening, we also went to some of the ladies who were still in their rooms. One woman was very angry, she did not want to talk and she was very depressed. Gayle then decided to take a team member and to go down to her room. As we went there, Gayle walked right up to her and hugged her and just showed her love. She then started to cry and asked us to close the door and there we were able to minister to her for ca 20 mins. When Gayle left, she thanked us and told us she felt God had touched her and she felt better. The woman was told, that only Jesus is the solution, and it is only Him that is able to help her.
Treasures Team
When we asked the women about their opinion of us coming every week to the brothel, we received a very positive response: They are always happy, because they don’t have a family here and they feel appreciated. Some said to us that they want to get out of prostitution. We could encourage them, to contact us.
Gayle could also pray for the security man, who is very open.
It was a very blessed evening.
