Today I want to look at a topic that I think is very relevant in our day and age and that is, "What is our vision when it comes to our lives with God." Maybe you're in the ministry and you're asking, "What is the vision that I have for my ministry, for my Church, for my family?" Everyone of us needs to have a focus, needs to have a vision that we're seeking the Lord towards and to.
I'm always amazed at how many of us sit there and really have no clue or we're waiting for something to fall out of heaven to say that this is our vision and this is where we're going. The Bible clearly states that, "My people perish for a lack of vision". Why is it that we don't have vision? Might I suggest to you today as I have to myself many times that the lack of vision comes sometimes because we ourselves lack in our walk with God. No it doesn't mean that we're sinning, it doesn't mean that we're apathetic, maybe it just means we've lost the cutting edge of who and what we are in God.
I want to ask you today, maybe one of the reasons that we don't have a vision is, "How much time are you spending alone with God?" You see I can work together with God for a project but the question really is, "How much time do I set aside where it's just me and God?" The other thing is, how much time do we really spend in the Word of God? How much are we ourselves reading the Word of God, studying the Word of God, allowing that Word to get inside of us for it to become your and my foundation? Another thing is, how much time do we really spend with other believers? The Bible says that we sharpen one another, that we spur one another on to good works and unless we together do that we don't have the encouragement from one another to bring us into that place that God has.
So I want to just pray with you today if that's where you're at. Father I want to thank you that you are the God of vision and that you have placed vision within our hearts. I pray that you help each one of us to walk in that vision and to hear You and to seek You and to know who You are, in Jesus name.
