Arise Shine - Frankfurt, Germany (2009)

28th November 2009
We ended the year with two powerful meetings in the afternoon and evening. Gayle and Pastor Leon Evans from the UK were zealous to confront the body of Christ with reality: First, the power of secret sin will always lead to destruction and death. Hence, every one of us was called to bring these secret sins into light and to get right with God.
Second, a wounded lion can still roar. Hence, even when we’re wounded and hurt, the Lion of Judah living in us can roar. We only need to respond to His call and step out of our cave.
What an amazing day! Many people recommitted their lives to God, quit playing with sin and let the Lion of Judah roar again.
In the afternoon meeting, Gayle spoke about what it means to have hidden sin in our lives: a hidden sin that nobody knows about; a hidden sin overtaking power and influence in our lives, holding us back from doing God’s will and living in God’s truth because we gave into ungodly compromises. Gayle challenged all of us to bring these hidden things into light, even wrong attitudes and dislike of certain people, because only then they will have no more power to bring destruction.
In the break following different teams prayed for sick people. We also heard a very encouraging healing testimony. Our God is a miracle working God and in this case, where the doctor had explained that an operation would be essential, God healed supernaturally. Hallelujah!
In the evening, Pastor Leon Evans spoke about being a man and a woman of power and his message cut right in to the hearts of many.
To God be all glory and thanks for His wonderful working!
This was our last Arise Shine for 2009. Gayle's message impacted almost everyone present which was evident as they went forward to pin their secret sin on the symbolic scapegoat which we had drawn for the occasion. It was so refreshing to see people wanting to be free from the shackles that are holding them back from walking in freedom with God. It is also very encouraging that people from far and wide want to be part of the meetings and that distance is no barrier for them, as some seek accommodation and others travel the distance. I am looking forward with expectation to our Arise Shine meetings in 2010.
It was the very first time for me as I am new to the team and also the Frankfurt area. It was a great day and I was particularly impacted by the teaching from Pastor Leon Evans which touched me deeply; hopefully I will apply it to my life. I was also moved when we were praying for the people, to experience how God led us to the right ones. What an amazing God we serve!
This Arise Shine Meeting was a special one! First of all for Gayle’s message I had to draw a big goat on a board – what a challenge! Gayle then asked the people at the end of her message to write down the sin or the thing in their lives that they wouldn’t ever tell anyone about on a piece of paper and pin it on the goat, which symbolically meant bringing it to Jesus; many people responded. For the second part of the meeting we joined with the Unified Worship Team and had a guest speaker from England – Leon Evans. The next meeting on the 23rd of January will see Gayle and Suzette minister and we are already looking forward to it!
