Suzette and Gayle spoke at the Fire Conference in Belgium on the 21st and 22nd March 2009.
From March 21st – 22nd, Suzette and Gayle were invited as speakers to the Fire-Conference in Mouscron/Belgium. It was a great privilege for Voice in the City to minister in Belgium and to support the local church that has a vision for its nation and the neighbouring countries France and the Netherlands. Belgium itself is a nation with a high percentage of self-confessed atheists.
On Saturday afternoon, the conference started with a wonderful time of worship and praise and was soon after followed by Gayle's challenging message about King David that struck every listener. The evening was scheduled to be Suzette’s slot, but before she even started we strongly sensed that Satan was trying to disturb us. It wasn’t possible to start the meeting on time because the lights were not working anymore. Nevertheless, after much prayer and practical intervention, we managed to kick off the evening with emergency lights and after 30 minutes of worship the regular lights were on again and Suzette preached about 2.Samuel 22.
On Sunday morning and afternoon Gayle spoke about Lazarus and continued her sermon on King David from the previous day. The closing meeting was held by Suzette in the evening and this very meeting has become my personal highlight. The Lord graciously healed – He healed physically as well as healed broken hearts and without Suzette having spoken about forgiveness, the attendants went to one another and asked for forgiveness.
Throughout the whole conference people reacted visibly to the Word of God and almost everyone went forward when an altar call was made. It was so wonderful to see how the Lord moved in these days. He truly hears our prayers!
We had the privilege to minister in Mouscron, Belgium on the weekend of March 21st – 22nd. Mouscron is located in the western part of Belgium; right at the French border running straight across the city. About 10 million people live in one hour’s driving distance whereas Belgium itself is known as one of the most atheistic countries of Western Europe.
“Cite de Miracles” (“Place of Wonders”) is a French speaking church led by Pastor Joedi Oetomo, a native Indonesian and his wife Christine.
The congregation has rented a former supermarket and decorated it with loving care. When we entered the building for the first time we could sense that this place was a house of prayer and freedom of the Holy Spirit – a true lighthouse for the region and the nation.
The messages that God had put on Suzette’s and Gayle’s heart touched the people deeply but on Saturday evening, even before Suzette started preaching, we could strongly feel the opposition in the spirit realm. Due to sudden electric problems the lights of the building just didn’t seem to work anymore. After much prayer and a rough-and-ready repair, the evening meeting could finally start with a delay of almost one hour. Nevertheless, in exchange for the disturbance on Saturday, we experienced an unforgettable breakthrough on Sunday! God truly revealed Himself as the One that saves, sets free from bondages, heals physically and also restores relationships. It was so wonderful to see how the participants praised the Lord full of joy and thankfulness afterwards. We are grateful to Pastor Joedi and his wife Christine that we could partake in the great things the Lord does in Belgium.
