PAPUA, INDONESIA (11th Oct.)

PDFPrintE-mail

On the first of October we flew back to Timika, where we have held our previous outreaches earlier this year.

We had a powerful and blessed time here as we strengthened the prayer movement for this city, and imparted into the church leaders our vision for the future ministry in Papua.

On the 4th of October Suzette ministered in Kwamki Lama, a land plagued with disunity and conflict.

Through Suzette, the Lord brought a powerful breakthrough within this region. As an act of humility and reconciliation, Suzette washed the feet of the local pastors and broke bread with them. Over 400 people, including 24 pastors from the tribal areas attended the meeting.

From Suzette’s inspirational teaching the pastors of Kwamki Lama united together in the establishment of a new Prayer Tower, and a few days later the first prayer meeting was convened!

From the 5th until the 7th of October we were in Jayapura, the capital of the Papua province and a city of great influence over the region. The short time we had here was an intense period for us; we felt the spiritual battle that waged over this city.

A battle for unity.

Already over the past few weeks, some of the local pastors of Jayapura have been meeting together in order to motivate more unity within the city. Suzette spoke powerfully to these pastors and leaders, and strengthened the prayer movement for Jayapura. At our last Prayer Concert in the city, Suzette challenged the people to spend at least one minute at 7:00 am each morning to pray for the city.

We ask you too in your prayers to remember Jayapura, a city desperate for the overwhelming love of God.

On the 7th we attended the prayer meetings of Manokwari. Where Suzette also stirred the hearts of the people to pray for their city, before moving on to visit two different inland tribal areas for 5 days.

Superstition, mysticism, un-forgiveness and even vengeance still play a vital role within the inland tribes. Many religions have already been going to these people with the promise of gifts and schooling if they convert to their faith.

We pray that God gives us the breakthrough we need as Suzette preaches in these tribal areas. So that these precious people may know a life in Jesus Christ!

Suzette almost wept when she heard that other tribal leaders, when they heard that she is going into these remote areas, sent a delegation with letters of invitation, asking if she could visit them as well.

The need is great.

Thank you for being a part of all that is happening here through your prayers.
