Voice in the City "Arise Shine" Meeting
in Frankfurt, Germany
28th March 2009

Report by Anne Meerkotter

Our third "Arise Shine" Meeting on the 28th March started off with an expectation in each and every one of us. Gayle was such a blessing and even though she was in pain after just getting over an operation on her jaw, she preached with a passion on how Jesus called Lazarus “to come” and the people responded as God drew them. Suzette spoke about the love language of God and whether we are serving at the same table as the Master. This greatly spoke to the people, which was evident at the alter call. The prayer ministry team who prayed with people throughout the break were also such a blessing to those who came for prayer. At the end of the day it is always good to look back and think about how the day went and how many people went home touched by the Lord.

Report by Heike Staiger

On Saturday, March 28th, we celebrated out third Arise Shine-Meeting in Frankfurt/Germany. At the beginning, we heard about the wonderful healings the Lord did at our previous Arise Shine-Meeting in January – e.g. a woman who couldn't move her arm, because it was in plaster after an operation, had been healed. Personal prayer was also offered for the sick in between the meetings.

In the afternoon session Gayle spoke about the resurrection of Lazarus in John 11. Her message had the interesting title "From the deathbed to the Master’s table". It was a message that the Holy Spirit had put on Gayle's heart and it was great to see how God - through this word - spoke directly to the people. Some attendants came to the book table and said that this message had spoken right into their current situation. One woman even said that the Lord, just like with Lazarus, had called her out of the tomb this very day. Suzette preached in the evening, also this time she was in the wheelchair. Nevertheless, this was not an obstacle at all and her sermon, titled “God’s love language”, was full of love and power. Suzette’s practical examples could not have been more precise when she spoke about the different ways we communicate love with one another. It was clear to see that all who attended had received a lot that day!

To the Lord be all glory and thanks!

Report by Stefan Wenzel

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” - Isaiah 60:1

We are very grateful to the Lord for the possibility to hold these meetings in Frankfurt. Like with the previous Arise Shine meetings in October 2008 and January 2009, we started off the afternoon with a seminar on character training with Gayle Claxton. Gayle preached a passionate and challenging message about Jesus and Lazarus called “From the Deathbed to the Master’s Table”.

Suzette took over the evening meeting and it was great to see how she had gained in power and strength compared to the Arise Shine in January. God is so faithful! The entire day was filled with an atmosphere of love and the tangible presence of the Lord.

“Personal Touch”, was the individual prayer time offered for the sick between the meetings for the second time. It was wonderful to hear the testimonies from brothers and sisters who had been touched by God in the January meeting and testified of their healing now in March.

Here are some testimonies
  • Mrs M. was at our January meeting and due to an operation her arm was in a cast and still in a lot of pain. At “Personal Touch” and during the worship time God did indeed touch her and she could move her arm pain free again.
  • Peter was suffering from kidney problems and has been healed. His doctors also confirmed that his blood count is normal again.
  • Miss Kim is healed from strong pain in the shoulders and also received inner healing.

Its fantastic to see people from various churches in the Rhein-Main area come together to celebrate God as well as brothers and sisters from far off traveling to Frankfurt – one family came all the way from Hamburg and another one from Karlsruhe!

We're always looking forward to hearing wonderful reports about the things God is doing during the worship and prayer time – therefore let us not expect too little from Him for Jesus Himself said, “I am telling you the truth: whoever believes in me will do what I do – yes, he will do even greater things, because I am going to the Father” – John 14:12.
The following are statements from pastors and leaders who attend our Arise Shine meetings
  • “The Arise Shine meetings are characterised by sound, solid teachings, great expectation and faith for what the Holy Spirit can work in us, with us and through us. The personal atmosphere and the identification with the concerns of the Rhein-Main area are an enrichment to the local body of Christ. Every time I come out of the meetings refreshed, strengthened and encouraged.” - Tobias von Stosch
  • “We were totally impressed with the agreement and meshing together of the messages from Gayle and Suzette. We know that they had no idea of what the other was going to say! This is an example of just how much the Holy Spirit moves in them as a wonderful team. The opening of Suzette’s heart before all assembled in her speaking about the absolute trust that she has in her Creator, in every single word that she had to say, touched, inspired and encouraged Karin and I immensely! We know that God will completely heal her! Karin and I were also so full of joy to be able to help in the healing prayer time. We know that this was and will be a time of glorification of the Lord in His healing power. We had two follow-up visits at our ‘Wellness’ healing time at ‘Philadelphia Gemeinde International’ on Tuesdays following:

    a) A lady who was healed at the Arise Shine needed further help through counselling.
    b) A man who was healed at the Arise Shine had further healing needs and has received further healing since. He is now also attending the church.”

We are grateful to the worship band from “Kingdom Life Frankfurt” for leading us so wonderfully into the presence of God. We also thank “Christiliches Zentrum Frankfurt” (Christian Centre Frankfurt) for renting us their facilities.

Our next Arise Shine will be on the 30th May 2009.

The messages from the previous meetings are available on CD and can be ordered via our office.

All glory to our awesome God!
