Part of the Voice in the City team travelled to Pori, Finland from the 6th-8th February 2009 to start preparations for the City Taking event in August 2009.

On Friday 6th February we attended a meeting with about 50 Church leaders from the region of Pori, Finland. We presented the general vision of our City Taking Project and the presentation was well received.

"Dynamics of Christian Living" was the title of Gayle's first message on the Saturday morning. She pointed out, by examining the life of Paul, how God took a man like Saul and changed his heart so that he became a testimony of God’s love and power.

In the afternoon Gayle preached on "The 4 Pillars of Prayer" naming them "praying with determination", "praying with direction", "praying specifically" and "praying with faith". I thought that this message was a real help and blessing for many.

Finally Gayle ministered at a youth meeting. The Lord had put on her heart to talk about Jonah who had the call of God but chose to walk away, yet God in His mercy still used Jonah powerfully to fulfil his purpose and destiny. Like always, Gayle shared personal testimonies which really helped the youngsters to identify with her and during the altar call many came forward to be ministered to. The Holy Spirit was indeed doing a deep work.

On Sunday morning Gayle preached a powerful message called "From the deathbed to the Master's table". The congregation listened carefully as Gayle spoke about Lazarus and how the Lord called him out of death into life. We enjoyed a wonderful and blessed time in Pori and we are looking forward to the upcoming City Taking in August.
