Orange City, Australia (Nov 2011) Second Update

A short update from Suzette after the City Taking in Orange.

The City Taking in Orange is now behind us, and I can only marvel at all God has done. What an amazing time we had indeed!

During the event, the believers of Orange gave out over 5,000 roses. Which they used as an opportunity to share with people the message of the love and hope they have in Jesus.

It has been amazing to listen to the testimonies of those who went out on the streets, handing out roses and knocking on doors. It was like in the days of Jesus, when the disciples came back filled with joy and told Jesus of the amazing things they have seen!

I listened to these testimonies with great joy and thought: “As it should be; God’s people in action! Out of the church walls, amongst the lost, proclaiming the goodness of God!”

At the heart of this event was not “mass evangelism”, but about launching God’s people out into their community. To take the message of God’s love into places where we cannot go, reaching out to people who would not come to our meetings.

On the last weekend of the event, we had a combined meeting held by all the churches that worked together in this project. It moved my heart to see people from many different denominations, working hand in hand for the same purpose under the banner of “City Taking”.

Other ministries and organisations, such as the Salvation Army and YWAM, were also a tremendous blessing for us. This is how God said it should be: one body – one goal!
